A publication to commemorate the Mémoires de la Méditerranée program, which was created to encourage/support the translation and publication of contemporary Arabic literature into European languages. Between 1996, when the first translations appeared, and 2001, more than 50 books were published into nine European languages: Catalan, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish and Swedish.
